HOW CAN ONE GET A DREAM JOB?

Just like I will always say, employers are always looking for uniqueness in every interviewee. They always go for the skills not just in your CV, but also from what you say during the interview. “Soft skills” such as integrity, accountability, common sense, motivation, energy, enthusiasm for the work, humility, intellectual curiosity, are the emotional intelligence factors that will weigh equally in helping you get noticed in today’s workplace.

The following are the things you should do during an interview to make you get that job you have always wanted.

CREATE AN IMPACT
Show your impact in your former work place by describing briefly how you were able to impact positively into the company by tackling difficult challenges. You can also give examples of hoe you could achieve these things.

You have to demonstrate that you have done that other people could not do. Demonstrate that you have taken responsibility for your career and for helping others achieve their potential. This would help to show how responsible you are.
DO RESEARCH
Always remember to make thorough research of the company that will interview you. It will help you to have knowledge about what they do and their areas of interest. By doing this, you get to be considered by your interviewers for employment. competition.
EXPRESS YOUR LEVEL OF INTEREST FOR YOUR COMPANY.
During your interview, show that you are someone who is motivated to do something great for the industry. Tell them how you will like to improve the industry; either through ideas or technology.

Stand out as an all-star by identifying an acute pain point your prospective employer is struggling with and share some research that could help provide them with a solution to fix that problem. Reinforce your capability to be a problem solver by sharing a specific incident where you successfully tackled an employer’s tough challenge and achieved great outcomes for them.

HOW CAN YOU HIRE THE BEST EMPLOYEE FOR YOUR COMPANY?

Because of the growing competition in the labour market theses days, employers always strive to get the best of staff members they lay their hands on. That is why it is important that you employ the use of recruiting firms that are reliable, like www.careergong.com to help you get good people. It does not just end there. You need to also follow good recruitment processes because there are also some things you should do on your own to ensure that they are up to your standard. Some of these thins you should do include:
GO BEYOND YOUR SEARCH AREA
While searching for the perfect employee, you should try and expand your search horizon because people can be good at something but take up something else as a course. Today, advancements in cloud computing and video conferencing have opened the doors to hiring remote staff members, so recruiters are no longer limited to candidates in close geographic proximity to the company's headquarters.

PUT YOUR MISSION ON DISPLAY

It is advised to display your mission when you want to reach out to your candidates. This will help them to know what they want you want, and work in line with what you want.

WHEN CAN ONE START HIRING?

The question of when to step up your game from being a business owner to being an employer is quite difficult to answer as lots of business entrepreneurs have no clue of when the right time comes. This is quite difficult to determine because every business is different, and what determines the success of one is not the same with the others.

However, when you find yourself struggling to reach the expectations of your customers – when you’re so in demand that you drop the ball and don’t have the capacity to take on any new clients – that’s a good indication you are ready to hire.

One thing you should know is that employing staff can be a bad idea  for the smallest companies, but if you’re already reaching your maximum output level, it’s the only way to boost your revenues, other than putting your prices up. Two things to think about if you’re considering employing your first member of staff includes:

The first thing you should think about is whether you have generated enough money that can afford to cover the monthly salary of your staff. This is an unavoidable expenditure, and thus you should be 100% sure of what you can afford before employing.

Secondly, make sure you have you have enough work to keep them busy with before employing them. If you feel that you have money and you are a little bit stressed, but yet do not have enough work for your staff, it is a waste of time and resources. As an entrepreneur, you need to get used to feeling stressed – that part comes with the job.

If you think you’re ready to hire your first employee it is essential to spend time thinking about what your new member of staff will do on a weekly basis. You need to have a clear idea of the tasks you’ll be expecting them to complete to ensure you keep them motivated, challenged and engaged.

WHEN DO YOU THINK THE TIME IS RIGHT FOR A NEW BUSINESS STARTER TO EMPLOY NEW STAFF MEMBERS?

HOW CAN ONE SUCCESSFULLY CREATE A GOOD CAREER?

The best way to attain success is to thrive for it from a very young age. Then again, there are no secrets to getting your career: the only secret is that you should try not to copy what others have done, but search within you to find the key to your success. You cannot recreate the success of others, but you can establish your own success and make it the best.
 There are some step therefore that has been advised to practice in order to build a successful career at any age. They are;
1. Innovate
There are better things to expect when you innovate. Go for innovation rather than sitting and waiting for a change to come your way. Try to come up with new ideas and implement them in order to be at the top of your game.  When you think differently, you are a step ahead of innovation. Take a look at everything around you and find ways at how you can make them better.

2. Google it
Google has been created to make life easier for us all and we must therefore make good use of it. It is now at your fingertips, and you do not need to say ‘I don't know’ anymore. When asked a question you do not know, instead of backing out, try and surf the internet for it. Google has created an opportunity for you to know everything, make good use of it.  MORE ADVICE ON HOW TO BUILD A SUCCESSFUL CAREER WILL COME LATER.

WHAT ARE THE THINGS ONE SHOULD NOT SAY DURING A JOB INTERVIEW? ANY IDEAS?

When going for a job interview, you are advised not to say certain things, as they are likely to disqualify you for employment. Some of those things you should not say includes;

1) “I GOT MY FORMER JOB SO I WOULDN'T LOOK JOBLESS”
No matter how bad your last job was, try as much as possible not to express your hatred for it or complain about what they did to you. Employers use this as a medium to know how well you could manage your former job.
Don't talk in a negative way, it reflects negativity about you. Instead of pouring out your hatred, use it as a credit to yourself: talk about how well you could cope in a harsh work environment.
2) “I WAS THE BEST STAFF IN MY DEPARTMENT.”
Employees know how a job can be, they know the ups and downs as well as how good or bad it gets. Even the professionals usually make mistakes, talk more of someone who is still learning.
It is better you talk about how you did your best and how your best created a very good outcome than talk about how you were the best in your former job.
3) “THE TARGET THAT WAS SET AT MY LAST JOB WAS TOUGH AND UNFAIR.”
Just like i said earlier, complaining about anything in your last job keeps you on negative side. It is better to say good things about your former job than blast it.
Complaining about the target you were given at your former job is like you are just giving excuses to avoid doing something productive. So while the complaint might be completely valid, don’t dwell on it, lest it makes you look bad.
4) “WHAT IS THE OPENING AND CLOSING TIME?”
Although this question is important to be asked, you should know when to ask it. Asking this question in the interview shows how unserious you are, and how eager you would want to leave the job once you start. After you start the job, you are free to ask any questions you want to ask, but never during the interview.

5) “I DON'T HAVE ANY QUESTION.”
It is always very important to ask questions at the end of the interview, no matter how little it seems. Saying you do not have any questions to ask seems like you do the have the requisite curiosity for the job.
Companies today require someone who is very insightful and can uncover a large deal of problems, therefore will most likely employ the help of an interviewee who shows lots of interest and inquisition.

Above all, you must know the kind of impression you want to create and should deliberately show it. All you should think about in your job interview is how you want to start anew with your new boss, rather than talking about all the bad things your former boss did to you.

HOW CAN ONE SUCCESSFULLY ADOPT TO A NEW JOB? ANY IDEAS?

Can you remember the first time you were offered your dream job? How ecstatic were you to be there on the first day? When you got to work what was the first action you took? Well my first day was like I was in a lion’s den and was going to be swallowed by the strange experienced faces looking at me. I started asking myself, can I last here for more than 2 hours?

That is how it always is, but preparation and planning helps to kill fright and you find yourself lasting more than you expected on that job. Below are things that can help you succeed in a new job.

1. BE PROFESSIONAL, ON TIME, AND EFFICIENT
 It has always been advised that during your first time at work, you should always be punctual no matter what, keep your conversations professional, and address coworkers respectfully. It is also advised to stay till the end of work, so that you can get to know your fellow employees who work late, and also get some information you need to get. This helps to show how serious and keen you are at your new job.
2. CREATE A COURSE OF ACTION FOR YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
Jumping into a new job, with an unfamiliar work flow and work pace, is one of the biggest hurdles facing new employees. To be able to control those hurdles, you should work with your manager to create a schedule for the first 90 days. It should include what you plan to accomplish within those 90 days.
3. INTERACT WITH YOUR COWORKERS
At your new job, try as much as possible not to stick to yourself. This will help you to get used to the work flow faster and also keep you on friendly terms with your coworkers. You will be able to find out what they are working on and their areas of expertise, this will help you to have a better understanding of the company's needs.

HOW CAN ONE DISCOVER THEIR DREAM JOB?

In life, being happy does not need a lot of things to accomplish that. When you look at most happy and successful people, you find out that they all doing something they love, created and believe greatly in them even if it hardly brings them much income.

Therefore, in order to be happy, you need to be doing something you love and find joy in. However, finding that thing that you love doing doesn't always come easy, you have to really struggle to get that.

It has become a common problem that people get confused when they are trying to figure out what to do. You often find them wandering from job to job trying to find a place that fit hem and makes them happy. If you are one of them, one thing you should know is that thinking about your dream is the first step to discovering reality. Below are a list of suggested you should think about ;

Think
Just like I said earlier, thinking about your dream is the first step to bringing them to reality. The first way to actually solve a problem is to think about them. Therefore, bringing your problems to thought helps you to know where and how exactly you should try to solve them.

Think about your talents
There is a belief that we were all born with a gift. But then have you been able to discover that gift? Have you thought about how well that gift will bring joy to your life when you share it with others? Do you know that it is only when you discover that gift and sharing it with others that you will start living? There is much truth in that question, therefore the most important part of your dream finding process is discovering your gift. Try to know what you are good at, your talent, what you like doing based on your hobby, what you had passion for while in school or in your previous job.

Who you like to work with
Your dream job also includes who you are doing it with, because you will not be able achieve that dream job alone but with the help of certain people. Try to make a list of the kind of people you love to work with as well as enjoy their company. They could be the creative ones, entrepreneurs, programmers, CEOs, etc. With this in mind, you will be able to have an idea of what your dream job will be.

MORE IDEAS TO THINK ABOUT WILL BE PUT UP LATER... KEEP READING.

HOW CAN YOU ENSURE GOOD INDUCTION/ONBOARDING PROCESS IN YOUR COMPANY?

When a new staff is being recruited in your company, one major right you owe them is the induction process; this is all about introducing them to the system and culture of the company, making them understand all there is to know about the company. However, some companies and organisation fail to get it right, or sometimes do not do all that is involved in the induction process. Therefore, the following are the things you need to do in order to ensure good induction process.

1. Set Goals
The team in charge of induction should set up goals and expectations for the new staff. This will help you to know how enthusiastic and prepared they are to work with you. This will also help them to know the exact job they are supposed to take up in your company.

2. Customize Your Training Methods
Customized orientation can help assimilate the new recruit. Accenture offers four types of programmes — MD integration that comes with an app for each MD, executive induction for senior executives, lateral induction for experienced hires and ASE orientation for all those joining from campus. The programmes cover various aspects such as business, HR practices, culture, core values and essential areas that help settle the new joinee in the organisation.

3. Use The Buddy System
Using the buddy system is well advised because it is one of the fastest ways to get a new staff well integrated into the system. It helps to lower the barrier of access to he organisation. Buddy system is a process whereby the new staff is being placed in the care of an old and senior staff, and he/ she is to ask questions in any part that gets him/her confused. The senior staff acts like the mentor and renders advice where necessary. This system makes the new staff feel more at home and attuned to the daily activities, and helps him get to acquaint more with all the other staff members.

HOW CAN YOU CREATE AWARENESS OF YOUR INSTITUTION?

Nowadays, marketing seems to be taking a different and strange turn, in that lots of people; especially those in the training sector, find it quite difficult to adapt. What used to work before doesn't anymore, and there are no books that states the rules for what might work.
However there are certain things you need to take cognizance of in order to step up your advertising/marketing, they are;
 DO YOU KNOW YOUR UNIQUE SELLING PROPOSITION?
Surprisingly many trainers do not know theirs because they keep following the cliches. Your unique selling proposition is supposed to spell you out wherever you are and your students as well and tells you how you differ from your competitive set.

 If you do not have one, it does not tell your prospective clients anything about you and it is sure to tag you as ‘not existent’. You should ‘fine-tune, get concrete, drill down’. Get one or two sentence wrapper that succinctly captures your essence and sets the stage for just about all marketing/PR that follow.

DO YOU HAVE FACEBOOK, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM OR LINKEDIN ACCOUNTS?
Some trainers think the social media is for children, forgetting the big fact that today's world revolves around the social media and a lot of things become big from them.  Here's the reality: when people talk about you in social media circles,it is either you win or you lose (you win if the comments are positive and lose if they are negative). Nobody wants to lose for sure, so you should impact a good impression in your students and explore ways to get more social media conversation about you. That's how to win today and to keep winning tomorrow.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE THE BENEFITS OF BRANDING TO AN EDUCATIONAL TRAINING PROVIDER? (CONT.D)

Just as discussed earlier, branding is more than just a logo or phrase, especially when you want to be a leader in your area of sector (university, vocational training or certification body). Other reasons why branding is important to your institution includes;

1. IT SHOWS HOW DEDICATED YOU ARE
When you are about to establish an institution, always bear it in mind that a lot of people can establish their own institution; so you have to examine your brand and make sure that your concept doesn't collide with someone else’s. Always let your branding reflect (be complemented by) your professionalism and show how much time, money and initiative you have invested into your institution.

2. IT MAKES THEM FEEL LIKE A PART OF THE TEAM
one of the key success factors of a company (training provider) is branding because it makes your students (customers) feel like they are part of a team that aims at increasing their productivity. And it also instills trust and a sense of pride, and this is much more than just logo or price. Make sure the training you offer (which could be argued is your brand) gets your students (customers) excited to work with you.

3. IT GIVES YOU THE UPPER HAND OF ORIGINALITY.
One other main factor about a strong brand is the fact that it is uncopy-able. No matter how your competition tries to give the exact kind of services you give to your students, they cannot recreate your vibe because they are not you. Once your brand is a strong one, people will be able to recognize it as the main one.

HOW CAN YOU EFFECTIVELY FILL THE SKILL SECTION OF YOUR CV?

Just as I earlier stated, your CV is your selling point and should be written in a way to please your employers. In a bid to do that therefore, you should really think before you put down anything in your CV. That also includes your skills and acquisition. Here are a few tips of what to do when writing about your skills;

1. CONSIDER WHAT YOU'RE PROUD OF.
When writing about your CV, you should make a list of the things that made you proud while you accomplished them in your previous jobs and think about the skills you used in accomplishing them. Think also about what people appreciate you for.

2. QUANTIFY YOUR SKILLS.
When adding your skills, there are some questions you need to ask yourself that are crucial for them, they are;
·         How many projects have I led?
·         How many people were on the team?
·         How many customers were affected by my work?
·         How many people did I train?
·         How much money was involved?
·         What kind of results/savings did I get?
The answer to these questions will help you to know the value and quality of yourself in a way that your recruiter can understand.

3. TALK IT OUT.
In determining if you have the skills necessary, when creating a CV, talk about your experiences out loud with someone, preferably a professional or someone who has work experience. They can understand and hear things differently and can help you translate your internships, jobs, extracurricular, and educational experiences into important skills for a potential job.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES?

When an employer hires a worker, there is a high probability that the new hire might not have all the skills needed for your company. It takes around 28 weeks for a new hire to reach their optimum productivity level and outgoings for advertising costs, agency fees together with invested time during the interview process contributes to the price of recruiting replacement staff. Thus it is best for an employer to look out, not just in the interest of his employee but also in the interest of his business or company.
In looking out for the interest of your company, you are also finding ways to improve employee retention. Improving their retention doesn't just have to do with increasing salaries and praising them as it might be detrimental to them. Majority of companies now take up training as a form of employee retention.
Despite the advantages involved in training, there are certain misconceptions involved in it as well as some businesses feel it is an unnecessary exercise. Some employers think that once you train your employees, they can look for a different job or better opportunities somewhere else.
The above thought is a fairly pessimistic one i would say because that only appears as your thought. It is an understandable point of view, but if you approach training in the right way while recognizing and respecting your employees at the same time, they’ll have little to no reason to leave.

I would therefore advice that as an employee, training your staff is the best way to create employee retention because it will not just improve the productivity of your employee, but also improve the success rate of your business.
WHY ELSE DO YOU THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES?

WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE THE IMPORTANCE OF BRANDING TO AN EDUCATIONAL TRAINING PROVIDER?

First, let me ask what exactly do you think of when the word branding pops up in your head, a logo, colour, or phrase? Well branding is more than that, especially when you want to become successful in your area of specialization (university, vocational training or certification body). The way you set up your brand determines how successful or unsuccessful your institution will be. That is why it is important to add more than just the logo or colour, try to create a connection with your clients in a way that they would never want to look elsewhere once they have seen your institution. When you brand in a common way, you find out that your students want to leave you and try another institution. Here is why good branding is important for your business:

1. IT MAKES YOUR INSTITUTION MEMORABLE.
You see some popular universities, training facilities, or certification bodies, you wonder how successful they have become and start to wonder why they were able to reach that height of success at such a short time. The thing is that they have set their brands in such an unforgettable way that it has set a standard portfolio for them. With a solid brand, people will start to recognize your name as the one behind all those successful people who passed through your university, training facility or certification bodies.

2. IT PERMEATES THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE.
Strong branding doesn’t end with your marketing materials. It should also come through in the way you write, the way you dress, the way you connect with your students, the way you educational team carry out their lectures and practicals , and the grade your students pass with. Every contact with your students is part of your brand.
